For teachers, every school year is a chance to start off new and fresh. It can be a great feeling to know that you can reinvent yourself from year to year if you need to, or at least look for ways to improve. Here are a few things to try that can help you start your year off on a good note:
1. Have an organized classroom management plan. Discipline can be one of the hardest things for teachers to figure out. I have written a lot on this topic and there is one thing about it that is most important: know what you plan to do about student misbehavior before it happens. Deciding in the moment is often too late to be as effective as possible.
2. Try to learn your students' names as soon as possible. People love to hear their own names. Remembering and using your students' names is a sign to them that you care. Learn them ASAP.
3. Make personal wellness goals and STICK TO THEM. Nothing will make your performance decline faster than poor eating, exercising, and sleeping habits.
Hope this helped. Comment and share if you know someone who may benefit from this article. Happy teaching.
